Bowie City Hall and Police Headquarters - Bowie, Maryland

ReStl Designers provided structural engineering for the Bowie City Hall and Police Headquarters, an 80,000 SF civic complex uniting city administration, police services, and an emergency command center. With three distinct government functions operating under one roof, the structural design needed to balance operational separation with architectural unity, delivering both performance and presence.

The building’s LEED Gold certification called for an integrated structural approach that supported a green roof system, enhanced envelope performance, and sustainable site connectivity. ReStl’s team engineered long-span framing systems to accommodate open public areas while also reinforcing secure zones required by law enforcement and emergency operations.

Our design accounted for complex load transfers across multi-functional spaces, while ensuring durability, energy efficiency, and minimal long-term maintenance. Structural systems were carefully coordinated to support the facility’s civic prominence, as well as its sustainability goals and evolving municipal needs.
