Terminal A Rehabilitation, Additions, & Related Improvements – Reagan National Airport, Washington, D.C.

The Terminal A Rehabilitation and Expansion project at Reagan National Airport revitalizes a historic structure originally built in 1941. The improvements focus on modernizing key infrastructure while preserving the terminal’s architectural integrity.

The project includes the addition of new stairs and elevators to enhance accessibility and passenger flow. A comprehensive waiting room study has been conducted to assess existing conditions and document structural measurements for as-built records.

A significant component of the rehabilitation is the façade restoration. Design plans have been completed for the airside façade, with additional work set to begin on the landside façade. The project incorporates reinforced concrete repair strategies and structural assessments to ensure long-term durability. These upgrades will enhance both the terminal’s functionality and its ability to accommodate modern air travel demands while maintaining its historic character.
