River Terrace Educational Campus - Washington, D.C.

The River Terrace Educational Campus is a 77,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art learning environment, thoughtfully designed to serve up to 160 students with disabilities. Completed in 2016 as a design-build project, the entire facility is barrier-free — ensuring that students in wheelchairs can access every corner of the campus with ease and independence.

Certified LEED Gold, the campus integrates cutting-edge sustainability with functionality and comfort. From light-harvesting systems that maximize natural daylight to Bluetooth connectivity that seamlessly pairs with hearing devices, every detail was considered with purpose. Soft flooring, carefully curated color palettes, adaptive furniture, and specialized amenities elevate both accessibility and the learning experience.

River Terrace isn’t just a school — it’s a benchmark for inclusive design, innovation, and forward-thinking education spaces.
